PrayingPeople ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using PrayingPeople, you agree to this policy.
1. Information We Collect
Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and — if you sign in with Apple or Google — a unique identifier and profile photo from that service. You may also upload a profile photo directly.
Content you post. Prayer requests, praises, testimonies, and comments you submit are stored on our servers. Anonymous posts are stored without your name or photo attached to the visible content, though they remain associated with your account internally for moderation purposes.
Location. If you grant location permission, we use your device's location to determine your current city. Only the city name is stored and associated with your account — not your precise coordinates. Location is used solely to display and filter the city prayer feed. You can revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
Device information. We collect basic device and usage information (device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs) to diagnose issues and improve the app. This data is not linked to your identity.
Push notification tokens. If you enable push notifications, we store a device token to deliver notifications such as prayer confirmations and comment alerts. You can disable notifications at any time in your device settings.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To operate the app and provide its features
- To show your posts and profile to other users in accordance with your privacy settings
- To send push notifications you have opted into
- To show prayers and posts relevant to your location (city feed)
- To detect and prevent abuse, spam, and violations of our community standards
- To respond to support requests
- To improve the app through aggregated, anonymized usage data
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your content to train machine learning models. We do not serve advertising.
3. How We Share Your Information
With other users. Posts, comments, and your profile name and photo are visible to other users based on the audience you select when posting (public, city, or specific groups). Anonymous posts are visible without your identity.
Service providers. We use trusted third-party services to operate the app, including cloud hosting, authentication (Apple, Google), and analytics. These providers are contractually bound to handle your data only as directed by us and in compliance with applicable privacy law.
Legal requirements. We may disclose your information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of PrayingPeople, our users, or others.
Business transfers. In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred. We will notify you before your information is subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Retention
We retain your account data and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete a post, it is removed from the app immediately and permanently deleted from our servers within 30 days. If you request account deletion, we will delete your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
5. Your Rights and Choices
- Access and correction. You can view and edit your profile at any time within the app.
- Delete your content. You can delete any post you have made at any time.
- Delete your account. Email tejas+prayerappsupport@tejas.qa to request full account deletion.
- Location. You can revoke location permission at any time in your device settings. The city feed will become unavailable, but all other features will continue to work.
- Notifications. You can disable push notifications at any time in your device settings or within the app under Settings → Notifications.
6. Children's Privacy
PrayingPeople is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has created an account, please contact us at tejas+prayerappsupport@tejas.qa and we will delete the account promptly.
7. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS) and secure credential storage. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Third-Party Sign-In
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive only the information those services share with us — typically your name, email address, and a unique identifier. Your Apple or Google password is never shared with us. Please review Apple's and Google's privacy policies for details on how they handle your data.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you within the app. Continued use of PrayingPeople after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
